During the dinner of the ERA Annual Conference 2014, held in Salzburg, Austria, on 29-30 September, the Award Ceremony for the European Publication Gravure Award 2014 was held. The Award is organised by the European Rotogravure Association and sponsored by the Eurographic Press, association of leading printing industry magazines in Europe.
The chairman of the jury, Bernhard Niemala, Editor-in-Chief of Deutscher Drucker, representing the Eurographic Press, announced the winners, and the awards were presented by ERA President José María Camacho of CirclePrinters. Award winners receive a trophy and a certificate: commendations consist of only a certificate.
The international jury gave three awards and five commendations, covering the categories for different paper types as well as the Innovation Prize for new techniques or fields of application.

Mr Niemela noted that there were winning entries printed on Cerutti’s newest model Aurora press, and also on the KBA TR 12B press printed on paper webs of over 4 m width. Furthermore, one winning entry (the FAZ Magazin) has a page size of 278 × 400 mm, a tribute to the capabilities of the variable folder which is a feature of publication gravure presses.
We congratulate the winners, and thank all companies which took part. Next opportunities for participation in the Gravure Award will be the ERA Packaging Gravure Award 2015 and the European Publication Gravure Award 2016, both of which are open to both members and non-members of ERA.

Since its foundation in 1956, the European Rotogravure Association (E.R.A.) has developed into the leading international organisation of the gravure industry. It has members worldwide, from the publication, packaging and decorative printing sectors, as well as associated industries such as paper and ink makers, prepress, printing and finishing equipment manufacturers, the leading cylinder engravers, and some major print buyers.
